Unfortunately the bullies shout loudest, but they are, believe it or not, in the minority. The best way to deal with them is to ignore them..............even though it may be hard. Sooner or later they'll leave you alone. I've often thought that an internet bully/abuser should have two warnings and they're out, but unfortunately it would be impossible to police such a huge site as this 24/7. Just remember the old saying: sticks and stones may break by bones, but calling names can't harm me. You have the option to click on the 'ignore' button if you don't like someone's post, then you'll never have to read what they say ever again. And also remember that its only those who aren't happy themselves in some way who actually bully other people. Feel sorry for them and ignore them. The thing is with so many members and different personalities what might seem like bullying to some is seen as telling it straight and how they see it by others. The site is a great place once you learn to stop being offended by differing opinions. I'll admit it would be nice if those differing opinions could sometimes be put across in a more civil way by some people, but at the end of the day that's life and the Internet.. Straight talking, or seemingly harsh words might be normal to one person and not really meant as bullying. We've all said things without thinking it through, me included, and without knowing the state of mind of the person who might be reading our posts, it is easy for things to get misinterpreted or blown out of proportion. Other times people do try and get a rise out of another person, without caring about their feelings: its all to easy to do on the computer where you can't see faces and emotions, nor the tone of voice used. 6 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
