A hunter's summer?

Recommended Posts

Now the main hunting seasons have pretty much finished the depression kicks in for some.

Personally I like this time of year, it's the start of the whole cycle again, preparing for the coming season, and a good rest for man, working stock and our quarry.

So...... what do you do over the summer months and do you enjoy them?

Earth, behave yourself, someone will bite soon, lol.

I've got one more ferreting job to do in a garden and that'll be the ferrets away for the summer hopefully. Larsen traps are now down and we've got a few squirrels to deal with that I've seen have moved in. I'm enjoying the last of the roost shooting before spring really knocks that on the head. I'll have to keep my ferreting permissions happy the best I can over the coming months shooting rabbits in the evenings. I'm also hoping to get some decent days pigeon decoying in this year.

Other than that, it's general pottering about the shoot doing the usual jobs and generally enjoying the warmer months, dreaming of what next season might bring. Possibly a lurcher pup off my mate, decisions decisions....
