events co-ordinator 353
The Scottish govt has made it ilegal to fish for freshwater eels (EU directive apparantly) but the EA is still giving out Licences Quote Link to post

"Because I'm an eel fisherman and I don't like it" "because there life is hard enough" Sounds a bit hypocritical coming from a hunter, Would 'nt tighter regulations like catch limits be fairer to all. BEARINATOR 2,867
Just the old farm ponds I have permission on, biggest was 6lb. Had loads out the river wansbeck as well but nothing big. When me and my pals are fishing I'm normally the one who has to de-hook them and put them back in should be banned!!! I love my hunting as much as fishing but ain't no hypocrite as I think that eels have a hard time as it is, so they should go back , same as if rabbits are scarce then I won't hunt them. It is all about conservation after all Quote Link to post
sussexpoacher 45
Wansbeck used to be lifting with eels when i were a lad, they would be all you would catch if using worms for bait. Quote Link to post
