pointer28 1
I was there on Saturday, unfortunately was late arriving so didn't get to walk the course and had to watch the horses jumping from the back of a ten deep crowd. Here's a tip, the next time you have to get up at 2.30 to catch a flight, make sure you're in bed before 1.15. Christ, I was knackered, but I couldn't get over the number of lurchers and border terriers that I saw, must have been hundreds of each.

pointer28 1
I think it's important that people should read this press release from Badminton Horse Trials, unfortunately 2 horses did die but they were both freak accidents and were in no way caused by bad riding, bad course building or any kind of abuse. Even if your not involved in horses, remember that some of these militant anti types will try and stop horse racing and eventing as well if they had their way, so it's important that we all stand up for each other. EVENT PRESS RELEASE 18 - 5th May 2007 Horse fatalities Sadly two horses have died during cross-country day at The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials. The first Skwal (no 19) the ride of Andrew Downes (GBR) jumped the course and finished. He collapsed after leaving the main arena with a probable heart attack. The second horse Icare D’Auzay (no.40) ridden by the experienced French rider Jean-Lou Bigot had a freak accident. The horse broke a flag which severed an artery. Despite emergency treatment on course and after being transported to a local centre of Veterinary Excellence he could not be saved. Contrary to anxiety before the cross-country about the ground, the great effort put in by the Badminton management produced an excellent track with 43 completions, 33 clear rounds – 18 within the time.
