Selling Rabbits to A Butcher

I just asked my local Butcher, and he told me he has to take them from a Dealer, and they come stamped,

says he gets offered all types of Game but has to turn it down, as if Inspectors found one Pheasant feather in his back shop, he would be shut down.

He doesn't have a game licence then

Barter mate. I used to deal with a butcher who paid 1.75 a rabbit, or swapped me for a pile of bantams

my boss pays £1.50 but we dont sell a lot maybe 10 a week

Is there no licence needed to sell them?,i just thought that everything had to be traced and inspected these days so they can trace it back to source

i get 1;50 per head at my butcher he always asks that there fresh within the night before or day if kept in a cooler, he wants them gutted, skinned but the feet to be left showing
