I thought i would give the ferrets a outing today and see if i could get a couple of rabbits , went to a small garden today and the first burrow a wee rabbit flew out and that was it the rest of the guys hedges was very quiet so we went into his small horse field and after a good wait a nice big buck bolted ,then another two out a roadside warren . A quick phone call to the farmer next door and we where doing his field , last year it was a grass field and you could actually see the burrow's if you used google earth . This year he had winter rape for sheep food in there and as the sheep have been moved for lambing we had walk threw the field there where odd holes opened up the biggest being a two holer we got another two from there , it was mostly a case of putting a net down put in the ferret after five minutes find the ferret a couple of spits out and lift out the rabbit . End of the day we got ten big rabbits for our troubles . We found a nice grassy slope with all the burrows well cleaned out but being on a big slope and sand and the ferrets only having eight foot collars i though i better leave it till i came back with fifteen foot collars and give them a go .
