jumble sale find

Mate of mine made a killing buying old kimonos, saris etc, and getting them refurbed a bit and selling them on. In the end he was getting lots of old silk kimonos sent over from japan.

i bought my first sari by mistake in a bin bag full of stuff i bought for dog bedding -- looked nice i put it out and sold it for a tenna been buying them ever since ...i sell a few to a photographer who uses them for props --

STuff like that is very 'in' with certain folk, especially the nice patterns and materials. My missus likes to get hold of them to just use the material for making other stuff.

 

You want to get yourself a friend in india, to send some over, they cost pennies there.

never got stuck with one .. the amount of material thats in the them at a tenna thr cheap.. spose they`ve a loads of uses

dont laugh lads but had good coin on handbags lol

my daughter makes good profit on shoes and handbags on ebay she sold a bag she paid a quid for ,for 80 quid known her do 600 quid in a month ..

I went to 1 or 2 last year and got a bug for it on a sunday morning at carboot sale's i picked up a few tidy old hound's hunting print's in frame's which i was very happy with apart from the missus will not let me put them up and told me i had to hang them in the kennel's they are still sat in the kitchen drawer,i really need to man up and grow a pair :laugh: :laugh:

I was reading the description thinking 'why would you make them sound so tatty?' Then the penny dropped...

 

I hit a bootsale yesterday and nearly bought some fishing gear myself, but nowhere to store it (£15, tackle + seat box, 2 reels, pole + daiwa rod) which was gutting because I know he would have taken £10. But did get 4 big boxes of lindt truffles for £5, the weirdest thing is they are still in date. That got me more than money can buy with the mrs, so I still win. Got a free brass lighter too, just need to add a new flint andprobably replace the wheel jobby and I will flog it for a £5, that's where the big money is :thumbs:

£11 5 art deco picture frames

 

I tried to source some art deco style frames a while ago. Impossible to find any.

My fav period :thumbs:

best place for art deco and art nouveau are the antique fairs -- or look up a dealer on google they dont come cheap though moll --best path to go is the repro`s .. Edited by the_stig

Yes, i just wanted repro, that style suits this cottage, but trying to find any framers with that style available was impossible....one even asked me what art deco was.

Must not be fashionable at the mo.
