Makes you wonder .....if the BSE thing was another load of codswallop just to get us to buy anything thats not British in the meat trade who knows but it opened the doors to us buying meat from Argentina ect...

How the feck is it cheaper to buy meat from that far away.....when fuel and haulage costs are spiraling, then they package it here as british produce......

In the 80's I remember all the labelling being buy british just what do we produce anymore.....

Double standars again ......

I wish this was a series then the greenies would have to swallow it.......feck knows how they farm in places like argentina ffs......

Dirty dago's

Like one of the farmers said "we are just sitting back and letting it happen"

whats happened to us are we all just talk now ......for christ sake the french wouldn't have it

This programme opened my eyes big time the countryside is full of yuppies and barn conversions....its so sad to see and sadder for me to see that we are letting it happen

I don't think this programme did us any favours, imo it will have made more go vegetarian than the other way round. I saw a lot of things that were downright dangerous and hypocritical, eg, wrestling calves to the floor with a loaded firearm in your hand, not putting a headcollar on that horse before he shot it, the plonker at the end ripping out wing feathers, some of those birds will be a long while before they are able to fly, not having a good race and loading platform for those cattle, kicking the leg of the bullock while squeezing the door on it at the same time, then we saw his house, he looked hard up did'nt he, then to cap it all his missus comes in from shopping with a somerfield bag, earlier on we got a shot of tesco carrier bag, great advertising them for them, these farmers were complaining about cheap imports but still buying from the supermarkets that are responsible for it. We all know what it's like in the countryside, as i say i don't think we will have converted to many with this programme.

This divide and rule attitude is what got hunting banned in the first place. Who do you think is going to give you your permission if they sell up and something else? Do you really want to see Britain at the point where we're totally reliant on other countries to supply us with food despite the fact we're quite capable of being self sufficient if we buy home grown produce?

Do you really think the people that buy their second homes in the Lake District and use the countryside for nice walks and views are going to get you in to control charlie? Get f*****g real.

It's a sad day when hunters start to turn on the farming community. We're all in this together and with what I've seen posted on this thread and Foxgun Tom's I honestly wonder whether anyone can even comprehend the level of shit that the countryside and the hunting community is actually in. Take off the f*****g blinkers for a minute.

This isn't about winning people to our cause. The only people that watched this program had an interest in the subject to begin with. The people that needed to do it were making their imported teas, drinking imported beers and watching imported programs on television.

This program was about showing the stark reality of what political meddling has done to our countryside and how it has completely destroyed people's lives. How low does it have to go before there is ANY solidarity with people that live and work in the countryside?

If anyone wants to point the blame then you should know exactly where to luck as it isn't f*****g difficult. Dividing the countryside even further just cements their dictatorship. Blaming the farmer is like shooting the messenger.

the government is to blame for most of the way Britain is turning out,it would not suprise me if hunting was banned and not supporting the farms because it led to more farmland being freed up for residential developments

and leisure venues, industrial estates, since more green belt land is being sold off for very high prices, also the less farms there are the less to pay out for them, the government is controlling all aspects of our way

of life, joining the F*****g Euro s**t,what was all that about,we did everything ok before that, wages are going down now since they let more people to live in our country, the maths will add it all up in the end,

as i've said before on another forum, the greedy government's formula is MONEY=POWER=CONTROL,

well said chris,do we really want farmers selling up to posh townies who will not like fieldsports, would you sell your house your parents left you and struggled threw hard times to see thier families sell up move on.they would turn in thiers graves.yes some do drive 4x4 around ,but some near me live like paupers,a very simple way of life.a farmer friend of mine had to sell 50 acres at auction, guess who bought it?a estate agent and he banned the local shoot from using the woods for the shoot, and has caused no end of agro in the local community, even calling the police on me when lamping on my permission, some may say i dont give a :censored: any way cause i go where i please, well that dinlo attitude does nothing for the struggle hunting/country people are facing.

This is what my farmer uses, state of the art bright shiney new tractors etc...........

And the newest of the lot.......

And no he isnt tight, he would love new ones rather than these things which take several attempts to start each time, and would love a 4x4 rather than his 12yr old Saab, he has to make do with a quad bike to go out on the land in all weathers. Infact all of the farms here have this 'state of the art equipment'....ive never seen anyone who looke like they have money here.

The only holiday the farmer and his family had in 20yrs of marriage was last year, they went for a whole week to Scotland, and thats only because myself and an old guy in his late 70's looked after the house and livestock for him. The old guy is the only help he has, he does everything himself, he cannot afford to hire proper help. My farmer will be retiring in 6 yrs and the farm which has been in his family for many years will not be taken over by any of his family, all of the barns all of the fencing, all of the land has been built and repaired and managed by them. God knows what will become of it. Very sad.

Dont get me wrong, i see new shiney tractors everyday, the ones owned by the lord who owns the land who charges an extortionate amount of rent to my farmer.

He now farms the land himself and rents out the farm houses to yuppies at huge pricesrather than rent to farmers when one leaves. I suppose he has the foresight to see they propbaly wont be here for very long anyway! Bet he voted labour ;)

Cant wait to watch this, dont have a telly so checking with 4 OD that i am ok to watch without telly lisence :clapper: Shame that most of the non country living people are so ignorant of the situations. You only have to look in local asda down here. 3 shelves 6 rows wide of bacon all from holland and just one row of british! ask the store attendants when they are sold out of british stuff and they dont even realise they stock it! Yeh sure is has a small flag on it, but that is lost in all the other bumph they put on the packages! Thank goodness I know a few farmers who sell me their stock fresh from abatior, ok so have to have half a pig or whole sheep at a time, but that is surely what freezers are good for! Daft thing is it is so much cheeper, half a pig last year only cost me 60 quid, and it was the mother of all pigs, with half inch of fat on it! got proper dripping now to boot as well :clapper: knocks the socks of goose fat IMO
