hi pick up for sale starts up but only revs too 3500 revs my misses put over a gallon to much oil in it so no idea wats up with it 53 plate silver back on good tyres

starts every time ?? all ele work spot on till oil job after 1800 for it ono buy remove sorned parked at my feild at mo so 07792677407

Is it perhaps in limp home mode, agree with Noel, drain it, and start again although a gallon is an awfully lot to overfill.

it starts and limps home lads i have drained it but still in limp home mode just revs to 3500 just to say lets you drive home any more ideas or any thing to try.

just had new clutch and front shockers and loads of work done too

should do, they have an engine management system which hooked up to a diagnostic would tell you the problem i think, most garages have them

Only if an error has been logged though and that would bring a warning light on.

not sure mate but below the inlet manifold there may be a knock sensor its a round thing with one wire coming from it , my mates pathfinder went into limp home and this was the cause it senses abnormal noise and vibration from the engine,to test you need a multimeter pull the wire connector from the sensor and put the multimeter between the sensor and the earth you should get about 10ohms resistance if its OL you need a new sensor

I started Monday gone mate, been grafting like hell all week just getting my head down learning the ropes. Not something i'm wanting to do forever but in the meantime it's cash. Plus i've lost 4lb already, not that i'm a fat f****r or even counting!!!
