I start about 10/12 months running them besides the motor. Only a mile or so twice a week. I like to get them used to the motor and avoiding the wheels etc. when there about 14/15 months then I step it up to about 5 or 6 miles nice and steady. When there about 2 they will do 10 miles no probs. I only do this once or twice a week though as the weight falls of them. If I've coursed them 3 times in the week then I'll miss the road work out. By the the way, I'm talking about saluki Xs here. My old 3/4 grey couldn't run any where near them distances.

dont give it to much, 1-2 mile is plenty.Dont forget it will get fit when you start it working, couple nights a week.I only give bike work a month before i start lamping them, say august-sep . Before just bit of road walking 2 mile , the feet should be ok then ,before you go to the bike .

I run mine along cycle track few times a week at quite fast pace.

But I just walk out the door and im on cycle path prob about 6-7 mile, just watch out in summer months.

I also took my labrador running with me, it was too young at time about 6-7months.

I ran about 5 mile with the dog at steady pace but was in the summer months.

The dog callopsed about 500meters fae my house had carry it home.

Thought it was going die.

I was lucky wasnt further away.

It runs allday with me now but was too much to soon.

Just be carefull if your dog aint use to it and its sunny or hot.
