Recommended Posts

Nice buck, a gold medal is the easiest with the CWD but they still command a high trophy price.

Nice to see them about.

the lad who`s the guide has more gold medals for cwd and muntys than anyone i know, the last bascs magazine i read he either had been the shooter or guide on all that were published

Is a nice head for sure  ,i've had a good few gold medal heads but shooting ain't my game really, one we had was maybe even a bit better than that one but only had one tooth.

loads have either 1 tooth missing or broken teeth

The one that was left was very worn and you could see the hollow center of the tooth due to the wear, but if it had been in tact it would have beaten that buck on the film. Will add have had more with both fangs than with one missing, funny how they never use those teeth for anything though.

They use them in defence , during the rut and defending territories ..

Not arguing at all but i'll tell you one thing i've never seen any signs of it on any bucks i've had (old scars or new scrapes type of thing)and i've had without sounding big headed 100's of them,do believe you foxhunter and old mother nature wouldn't really give a beast a set of fangs like that for nothing would she?.Did see a good few cwd today out on a Norfolk marsh and there was one buck who had a good set on him,no deer were harmed during the walk and good to see local numbers seem to be rising this way :D .
