Raymond 618
VETS AGREE TO IT SO CANT BE THAT BAD I GUESS vets use ivomec themselves
MUDD 374
My vet gives me it if I request it, though he doesn't like the idea and has clearly stated that to me. It's as good as anything out there, though I would only dose a dog with it once a year as its very hard on them and can knock a dog back for a few days after dosing. Just be careful with it I definately wouldn't abuse the stuff.
TOPPER 1,809
ivermec is no use as a wormer , ivermec will not kill TAPEWORM it will treat pin worms, roundworm and lungworm , and as someone said if you don t get the dose right it will affect your dogs sight and sense of balance etc MUCH BETTER OF USING -- DRONTAL , PRAZIVET , PRAZITAL, MILBERMAX , CESTEM , TOSAN 500 EVEN BOB MARTINS IVERMEC is good for mange and other skin/mite problems but as a wormer its NO theres better cheaper stuff out there
bunnys 1,228
corect ivomec does not eradicate tAPE WORM BUT WHAT ONE SHOULD CONSIDER DRONTAL DOES NOT TREAT HEART WORM WHICH HIS BECOMING PREVALENT IN THIS COUNTRY . MILBEMAX ABOUT THE BEST TREATS ALL THE WORMS INCLUDING HEART WORM . THE IVOMEC HIS A GOOD GENERAL CLEANSER EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL FOR THE MITES AND MANGE ETC. TREATING 1ML TO PER FIFTY POUND BODY WEIGHT , SEEN SOME TREAT 20 ILB TERRIERS WITH THIS DOSE TO THERE DIRE CONSEQUENCIES . ATB BUNNYS.
johnharris 177
Why does it kill collie dogs ? I am not saying I donrt believe you but its mad how it will effect just one breed. Saying that I do know of a guy by me that treated a dog with it and the dog went blind so it is nasty stuff.
Bosun11 537
I belive it affects a certain gene found in Collie blooded dogs but if you Google it and read off the website it'll tell you there. From when I've looked into it, all I found was information regarding Rough (Lassie) Collies even on there own website. Still wouldn't trust it on any pastoral blooded dogs mind, even of pedigree unknown, lurcher to lurcher blooded dogs because you just don't know whats in there make up. Topper is spot on withy his post, if your looking to clear worms, don't bother, Dorontal etc is much more effective BUT for skin problems etc, I've used it in the past with great results, it'll kill everything bar the dog... Unless, as I said, it's Collie blooded...!!
waz77 15
Normal wormers for tapeworm for everything else advocate should do the job
Millet 4,497
I cant for the life of me understand why someone would want to risk the dog's life when they is perfectly safe and cheap method's out there for worming your dog..and they only need worming on average about 5 time's a year so i can hardly see that breaking the bank..
