Romany 1,065
Hey ho, we have photo competitions, photography competitions with other camera clubs, we are affiliated to the Federation so enter their competitions, and international competitions, have monthly outings to various places of photography interest in buses paid for out of club funds, (somethimes we do have to pay a couple of quid though), workshops, talks and presentations on photography by professionals, workshops on computers (our club has 12 computers) where we are shown how to do adjustments to our photographs in Photoshop, CS3, 4, 5 and Lightroom for those with it, we have an A3 printer where club memebers can print off A3 images for £1 each, we buy card in bulk and cut our own borders which work out at 50p each, we buy bulk memory cards, paper, inks etc and transfer the cheaper prices to members, we have photography equipment for members to use such as sensor cleaning equipment, a Spyder for calibrating computer screens, full photographic studio with lighting, models that come in for portraiture shots, and the occaisional nude....there are many experienced photographers there, who will assist with settings of specific cameras, we have social nights out, pea and pie suppers and a presentation night with meal, young members as young as 14 who we nurture and encourage.. But, No ginger beareds at our club, unless they have Knickers covering them But like you say, camera clubs are not for everyone..as their purpose is to turn mirrows into windows Edited March 9, 2012 by Romany
