Idiot Tonight

Recommended Posts

Just got in from an hours lamping with a mate. Have a farm I've been shooting for 10 years, the farmer was the guy who signed for my FAC 2 and a half years back and I have a great relationship with his family, I just helped his son get an FAC. Was on there tonight with the HMR, had a shot at a rabbit when all of a sudden about 100 yards away a guy with a lamp starts shining across and shouting at us, he lived in a cottage the other side of the field. He was accusing us of 'Being on his land' total idiot, I was shouting back telling him I'd been shooting the land for 10 years and told him to shut his mouth and who the farm belonged to! He then said 'Well the pellet came over here!' LOL. No chance of that LOL.

He carried on about how he had called the police so I waited almost 30 minutes for them to come, eventually they did and I went through everything with them. In all fairness they were great and could see that I had been genuine and heard my story well, waiting for them to get back to me now. I'm slightly concerned as I was just last week granted an Open Ticket, I did nothing wrong BUT who knows how the Police will process it?

What an idiot though!

Did you hit the rabbit? And what round were you using?

Was using a 17G Federal Premier, Rabbit jumped as I shot so no LOL No way anything went near his place, I was on the other side of the field 100+ yards away and was shooting down the field towards other fields in the opposite direction!

good to hear. I had some thing like this only a month ago accused of shooting on someone else's land police turned up and tried to get me to apologise to the lady for shooting on her field which I would not do as this is admitting a offence then they tried to get me to apologise for walking on her land with a gun dont think so told them where I was shooting then the farmer gamekeeper turned up and told the police I not been shooting on there land either as they have been in that wood then the owner turned up on the land I was shooting on and it became very clear the complainy and her dont get on the owner tells the police to f*** off her land, when I taken round to see this women by the police she said I was not shooting on her land I was walking through the woods it turned out to be the game keeper, the women then went on to say she does not like any one killing animals its all wrong and she does not speak to her brother any more as he shots rabbits at his work place It turns out he has no permission to shot on this ground as health and safety stopped it all a year ago animal charity this was all said in front of the police. I was left alone to get on with my day. But I think brother lost his job.

Playing devils advocate. Any chance that either of you had a ricochet that would have carried over to his land OP and the tin barn Stalker?

No LOL! I was a hundred yards away shooting a ballistic tip in the opposite direction into the ground off shooting sticks! Who knows though LOL

Attention seekers. Some years ago a running magazine did a write up on an arsehole displaying his backpack with a bullet still lodged in the hole it made (he was in some third world shit-hole). He went on saying how lucky he was to have escaped with his life only the bullet still had it's jacket on complete with untouched primer.
