Elmer_Fudd 28
Hello people, sitting here looking at some Uni work and had an idea, not sure if its possible or viable money wise. However I poss the question is it possible to convert a .22 to a .177 with the obvious changes being made; Barrel mag ect... regards Gareth Quote Link to post

Ron Weasley 83
If you're thinking about your Ultra, have a look at www.xtxair.co.uk Personally, I wouldn't bother mate. You're barking up the wrong tree if you think .177 is the the better calibre. Quote Link to post

Buster321c 1,010
There is NO better calibre . Its just personal preference . Cough ( .177 ) Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
Horses for courses mate - I think it's easy to read something, and then start believing that you think it too. It's been debated a million and one times on here, but the facts remain, if you do your bit, calibre is irrelevant. I personally shoot both calibres, and both fill my game bag (well, Tesco Big Green Bag). I can't say I prefer one over the other, although I'll choose my rifle depending on what I'm doing. (I'll always take my .177 Ultra if shooting at night for example). Having said all of that, it's entirely up to you! Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Hi Nothing wrong with.22 get to know your gun and scope same with .177. You can have it converted but it would be cheaper to buy one Quote Link to post
Elmer_Fudd 28
thanks guys ... guess ill stick with it get to know it better ... Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
For me its .22 for a springer, .177 for pre-charged. Quote Link to post
Acuspell 329
I sit on the fence with both spring and PCP - 20 calibre for me always now for hunting. The Grand Prix is for plinking at targets (.177) The SLR will be for the odd foray after squirrels (.22) it is just too nice to get rid of, so I'll have to find a use for it. The same for the break barrel 20 calibre. For all serious hunting it will be the Huntsman or Rapid (both in 20 calibre). 5mm makes so much sense. :tongue2: As regards your conversion- it would be cheaper to sell yours and buy one of the other calibre. That way it won't actually cost you anything and when you find out you were wrong, you can change back, again without it costing you anything to speak of. Quote Link to post
Elmer_Fudd 28
i do believe an opinion is never wrong as its opinion... I basically was writing an essay when posted this if i were serious guess I would buy another one in .177... ATB Gareth Quote Link to post
