was out last nite for a few runs with pup[9mths].she was doin fine untill she hit of an electric fence.

she got a good bang of it and roared the place down.problem is ,she thinks ive caused her the

shock as iwas beside her at the time and is very nervous around me at the minute. i hope

i havent lost her trust.

hate that mate its a fecking nightmare, it happined to us while out lamping and the we bitch ran away woudint come near us again, we endend up loseing her, but from that night ive been letting the farmer know when we are coming to his land and he very kindly showed us were to switch the fences off

build up the trust again, hand feed some of her feed, get her coming into your space, get her making contact with you ie jumping up for a treat, no corrections try managing bad behavior, avoid electric fences like the plague bud,,

the only positive out of this is, you can build trust again, but if she thinks its the wire, you may not get her into a field with wire round it ever again and is an all together higher mountain to climb, best of luck with her,

my friends pup did same last night, i seem to be dosey enough to put my hand on get zapped before the dog goe's near... it really gives a belt after a few its like a blurr

My young bitch struck at a rabbit while ferreting last year and hit a hot wire. It made her back off from rabbits approaching cover and she took a long time to get over it. Big set back.

mine jumped a barb fence in the dark after a bunny and hit a single electric fence on the way down little to say he had a sore ald man.he ran 2 fields but then came back,and quickly forgot about it lol

hate the feckin things, nearly as bad as barbed wire, for feckin your dog up. I know you carnt always pick your ground for rabbits without the E fences, but for how it (can) knacker your pup up, i would really try keep clear if you can of them.

Bas##rd stuff that, happened to me a good few times over the years, luckily majority of times the dog was a little too far away to think it was me,sometimes its difficult to get the trust back, especially with more nervous types,but in time you can, all the best.

happend to me last year on some permision where there is horses. had the dog out ferreting some rabbits for her jand she got tied up on an electric fence. i had to run n grab her and i was the one taking the brunt of the shock to get the dog off the fence. anyway point is it noked her confidence severley in jumping but more with me took a fair bit of time to gain her trust in me and to get back into jumping but she came good after abit of time

Glad sum1 has brought this up! My 3 year old bitch went down ] to pick a long ear up an a e fence got tangled round her feet! It destroyed her confidence an doesn't even take off even if 1 gets up by her, she was a class act before an I made a mistake of matchin her not thinkin the fence would've bothered her tha much but it has finished her, never mind she's a pet now n u Neva know sumtimes they get over it sumtimes they don't, learn by ur mistakes either don't run a dog around these obstacles or if u can turn tha feckers off! Best ov luck mate

We were out ferreting a couple of weeks back, ad a caught myself on the cattle electric fence, and aye it was sore! But the dog dinged himself off it at least twice after rabbits and didnt bat much of an eyelid!
