the new units for them bulbs av a swicht on them so a 250 bulb can be turn down to 125 watt and a 150watt can be turn down to a 75 watt very handy

i have got an electric hen ,a 125 watt heat bulb and 250 watt bulb ...i only used the electric hen for the first few days then the little barstewards started sleeping on top of it so i put them under the 125 watt heat bulb ,,i like the heat bulb as i can see them at all times and they seem to spend more time jumping around under the bulb than they did under the elecric hen....horses for courses though

A electric hen is much more efficient and will last a lot longer than a bulb..i have a 600mm x 400mm leccy hen here which produce's a good even heat through the area below a lot more heat than a bulb and it is only 60watt totaly waterproof and easily washed..when at it's lowest spot for day old's it put's a even 100f out which in my eye's is ideal.. :victory:
