Each to your own, but if you think they are to expensive don't buy them. I've got most of them and I enjoyed them, thought some of the photography was brilliant.

If I thought they were expensive I wouldn't buy them but I wouldn't come on here to moan about them either

The earlier books were decent, ie running dog addiction, dig deep throw well back but the one called the hare and swift hound I was really disappointed in it was just a feckin photo album, and of dogs and deer it just seemed to be full of self opinionated pi*h,

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Darcy his books are the best written on working lurchers and terriers so far.

That's because most lurcher and terrier people can't read and write proper. You've only got to look at some of the posts on here .

I think there to expensive, I wouldnt pay £40 for few shite dits and chad pics.

I think this shite limited edition is just a money racket.

And his next limited edition coursing book will prob be pushing £50-£60

I am not into reading books ,but i got a loan of dig deep of a friend of mine and have to say since that i have been hooked on Darcy's books; Recently i have bought of dogs and deer, scooby and now thats what i call terrier work,and have being impressed with the lot of them ,and while i was ordering them i ordered David Harcombs the world of the working terrier,and know while it's on my mind i'm gona order running dog addiction and the Nick Stevens book.

 

Fairplay to these lads that put these books together because i have enjoyed them

Have people nothing better to do than come on here and gripe about something someone has tried to do to make a few quid ? If you had the inclination and drive to put a book together yourself then imo your in a position to gripe about another man's work. Untill that moment then why bother ? Don't buy his books, put the money in your fuel tank instead to do your research and write your own books. Then come on here and read people's flippant comments on your work. Everyone's a winner

The original price of the deer book would get me about 100 miles worth of fuel.

 

I bought the book and enjoyed it.

i think he fills aviod were plummer left of in a more modern sense ,but as for real knowledge there well down the line ,there an openin for a good book like the holy grail on lurchers but only a few could write it as you have to live at the game and travel to gain expierence ,its a shame the ban came as he started getting into the book writing maybe more intresting to old hands at the game ,

Some good books, but still prefer d harcombes for style and terriers.

each give a totally different style of book, so both worth a read.

I have thought about it,, that's why I asked the question. Do Darcy's books bring more "unwanted attention" than say, Plummers or Drakefords books, or do you think ALL Lurcher books bring unwanted attention ?
