Next one dog or bitch?

Recommended Posts

Interested in peoples view regarding which sex is best in a running dog.

I have had both in the past, my best lurcher was a dog.

I had racing whippets that were bitches, personaly i seam to jell better with a dog?

Should i be different and buy a bitch?

If it helps it will be a deerhoundx greyhound

often wonder that my self but have seen dogs getting lazy as they get older, any bitch iv had all ways put 100% into hunting but saying that each dog is different some wild animals its the female that does the hunting and the males just eat it,but i have a male that wants to hunt 24/7.so i supose its peoples prefrence.

As males don't have seasons there is less chance of breaks in their working time. Having said that i've found the bitches i've owned have on the whole been better workers but i've always liked the dogs move. What ever suits the individual is probably best.

i would allways go for a bitch over a dog they seem to be more switched on for hunting dont no if this is cos they need to feed pups most seem to turn better than a big dog to also in my experiance bitchs seem to be easyer to train most dogs are allways trying to challange you for leadership bitches seem happy to follow, see and had a few dogs seem to toy on a chase where as a bitch just go gets job done no farting a about with quarry they go in and kill unlike some dogs but bitches dont have stamina of some of big dogs depends where and what you hunt but give me a good set little bitch over any dog

There is good and bad in both, I dont care whether my next one is a dog or a bitch so long as its healthy, has a leg on each corner and can bend and lift the big rabbits

Bitches! Love em and hate em! Great when they're not all hormonal, HORRIBLE pre season, (but work like demons) horrible after season: go all fat and blubby LOL.

Dogs are the same all the time, and easier to get on with: so why have I only got one dog?
