socks 32,253
Proper husky dogs eat frozen food all the time ... However a microwave costs pennies and takes minutes to defrost dog food so you shouldn't have to feed frozen ever ...........
lurche 48
cheers i started defrosting in micro but then read somewhere that this can cause warm and cold spots in the meat encouraging bad bacteria
lapin2008 1,587
just heat it before you give to the dog bacteria wont have time, then mix it up to even out the temperature
chook1 184
Ive given mine frozen quite often, normally chicken wings or carcases - never cause a problem so far reason mine get it frozen is so they take their time eating it. the dobermans used to get fed frozen chicken mince in summer when it was hot, as they lived out it meant the meat didn't go off as quick - never affected them either. BrianSteven72 369
fed mine frozen meet many times before never done them any harm , but as above been said microwave the meet for a few mins should never have to feed frozen again
scotty2306 37
mine get frozen bones which melt as they chew and they get frozen rabs through summer they chew it down before they swallow anyway we eat ice pops and such like but dont cause any probs so i expect they are the same
Sparticus 13
dogs get bloat through ingesting air into the stomach when eating, it shouldnt matter if the food is frozen or not. Just keep an eye on how fast they eat try to slow them down if there eating too fast. some say elevate their food bowls this also helps reduce the amount of air they take. Best of luck
sandymere 8,263
As socks say its unlikely to cause problems, perhaps a nasty ice cream headache, as huskies get frozen fish all winter. As I feed the main meal in the morning I take out the rabbit in the eve before bed and by the morning its defrosted.
stripeylover 3
Mine get fed frozen food all through summer as it's so hot and it takes them longer to eat it. They never get fed frozen food in winter i just get it out the night before

Best of luck this is what i would of thought ,she drags her food out the bowl straight into her bed anyway and lies down with it.
