ddurose 13
One of my four jills is now in season and I don't think it will be too long before the others follow suit. So to remedy the problem I'm picking up a vasectomised Hob tomorrow, the problem being he has only had his op on wednesday. Now I know I have to leave it a while before he can be put with a Jill but will the "in season" Jill be ok in the mean time or would it be best to get her jabbed. Any help you chaps could give would be much appreciated. Regards Dave Quote Link to post

PoCk0 40
Sorry, let me rephrase that, 'they can die'. I've heard/know of people its happened to. Think your being a bit naive and foolish risking it, that's just my opinion though... Quote Link to post

vermin catcher 219
Ive kept ferrets for over 25 years and only ever had one die because of not being mated and to be honest she was about six years old.The one thing i will say is jills left in season all summer look a sorry state at the end of summer because of the increased hormone levels.. As stated in the posts above, just keep the cages as clean as possible and you should be fine. The few weeks you have to wait for the hob to recover will be no problem. 1 Quote Link to post
huntmark 18
Never heard of a single ferret that died as a result of not being bred. Think the whole idea must have first been told by a vet just to make money from jabs and ops 3 Quote Link to post
