Wanted permission to shoot/hunt in a quarry?

Where i live there is quite a few mining quarry's around that are quite near, can i use these to hunt/shoot on for abit of long range target practice with my air rifle. And if so where do i go to ask if i can?

Quarries are all the property of someone; usually a company (for example, Bardon).

 

Sometimes disused quarries are sold off as nature reserves or whatever.

 

I doubt that permission would ever be given in a working quarry - the health and safety implications would make it too difficult.

dont do it!if you get caught on private land with an air rifle your gonna lose it mate take it from an expert in having rifles air pistols ferreting gear taken off me by the courts [when i were a lad] try and contact the owners to see what they say but dont hold ya breath pal good luck-billy

hi mate just seen your post sometimes quarries belong to local councils there is one near me that used to be used for dirt bikes that is riddled with bunnies but the local council own it so no one is aloud on it any more its not worth the risk buddy unless you ask but i doubt if you will get any where local councils really dont like airgunners if they own it but hey you might get lucky. my mate had his guns taken off him as his lad walked across the street to show his mate the gun with out a gun slip and this was just an air gun plus this was a lonely street so what they would do if you was actually shooting i dont know

Find out who owns it and ask them !! Don't just go over there and shoot you will end up in a world of trouble
