We spent all day last weekend walking about 6miles with the mink hunt in North Wales, ive never been on a hunt before and i can honestly say it was the best day out ive ever had, the people were warm and friendly, included you in everything and even let you bring your own dogs (on the lead of course) Ive never been made to feel so welcome anywhere.

The hounds were stunning all different types and crosses ranging from foxhounds to otterhound x's.

There were 3 terriers present to dig to any rats which may go to ground (Rats cos it is now illegal to hunt the worst vermin in this country!!!)

We did have to stop for about an hour at one stage as the police arrived, someone had called the police to say we were digging for badgers (with a pack of hounds?????) :icon_eek::unsure:

The hounds were not successful this day but were on a large black rat for a very long time, at one point it ran into us sitting on the bank, well away from the hounds etc so as to not interfere with the work etc. Hardfeathers very young whippet x was the only dog to taste rat that day she quickly grabbed it, but let go when it gave her a nasty bite on the muzzle. I was informed it would not have gone down well if any of the dogs had got the very large male rat.

I could go on and on about the fantastic time we had which was ended when we were approached by an anti :realmad: , so here are a few piccies instead....

Just prior to catching the rat.....

This dog had a movement and gait unlike any other, was a total pleasure to watch...

She kept slying off from the pack when they were waiting to get a tickle on the chest, the kennel men didn't mind. Big soft lumps these hounds.

Then the next day we went to visit a bobbery pack and a pack of blood hounds.

The owner and breeder has invited us to go hunting in September with the pack, including my own dogs if i wish. I spent a good few hours in this mans house, with his dogs, drinking his tea and alcohol, again ive never been made more welcome. A lovely 'gentle'man whose life was once ruined beyond belief by antis.

His pack...

A litter of pups from the pack....they are all something like, French basset x Russell x beagle (something like that?)

The old yard cat (19yrs old) does a brilliant job of breaking and playing with the pups, ive never seen anything like it in my life, the pups were pulling from each end and the cat loved it.

Then the stunning bloodhound x's......

Not used for hunting but to cold scent people running over hills and valleys, i bet its an amazing experience to hear a pack of these coming after you.

We were going to try to get some lamping in to bring on his young bitch but the weather was unbearably hot, so we had to 'force' ourselves to laze about in the garden with the ducks, hens, dogs & furts, HEAVEN.

Terra being broken to my 2 new furts from hardfeather...

Both of them including one from Millet...

The last night was spent lounging and drinking in the garden when we realised we had had too much to drink when we saw this....
