if i made a hutch with run under for a ferret would it be better with a solid base or can it sit on the grass ,

or will it try and dig out?

yep i tried that years ago,,, the ferrets were out in less than 1 hour lesson lerned..

 

what you can do ,, is berry the mesh in to the ground, down to about 6 inch i did this on a big outdoor run on grass,, never had one escape that

if you mean a ply base to the court , then yes...

 

i ment if the fella was intent on having a natural floor of grass/soil ect ,, like in a big bird pen,, then burrying the wire is the answer

thanks just wanted easiest flooring for a shop bought double tier enclosure for now,just wanted to know if it can go straight on grass or a solid floor.

didnt know wether or not they would prefer a solid floor or grass

I put my run on the grass and my albino jill dug her way out :@ :@ so its on concrate for the time.

 

On my run im just going to mesh the bottom and lay it on the grass that way will have grass under there feet.

Wood will take on moisture and be hard to get and keep clean phone your local driveway specialist someone who lays brick weeve. would be good they take up slabs all the time norm give em away
