I'm a Canon man! :)

What ever you decide to get shop around on the internet first for the best deal. Buy 'body' only as the standard lens will not do what you want to do. Ask the advise of the sales person and I would also call the Canon helpline (find that on their website) tell them what you intend using it for and they will give you proper advise, re lens, also. Then when you have your best prices go to your local dealer, they want your business and should be able to match or get pretty close to the web price's. Better to deal local imo, you can go back for more advice and help ;)

Canon camera rule, i proudly own a 400d, brilliant camera, for not mega money, also you need to search canon 70 - 300mm or 75 - 300mm lenses are my favorite & mostr affordable, dont buy non canon lenses as you will be dissappointed. if you do want to be seriously impressed with your lenses, get a canon IS, image stabalised lens, just make sure you have a skylight or uv filter on it to protect the lens, to avoid damp & obviously scratches.

Good lens that!...Took this picture this evening with said lens, not a good picture as I was in the dark/shadows not expecting to take any pic's and was not on the correct setting for this type of pic. Not too bad if you like flying dawgs!..
