i got pulled over on the a19 , copper on a bike pulled us and the vosa went over the van , so the little fat fella from vosa says one of your back tyres is worn to its limit , now he says if the police do you it will be a fine and points. if i do you all you gotta do is replace the tyre and take it to test station so they can vairify that tyre has been changed. so i say ok you do us then , he walked right passed the crack in the windscreen!! so i get the tyre done and take it to the test station to get the form signed , and the fella in the test station says no mate you gotta get the van re tested . so the vosa man was full of shit , a new mot cause of a bald tyre !!! [bANNED TEXT] the f**k is all that about , the best part is the tyre wasnt that bad

A plg (car ect) tyre as to have at least 1.6mm of tread and a commercial vehicle as to have at least 1mm tread . Some people will try and say it's 3mm it's not this is just an advisable limit when to change the tyre..

Its at the discretion of the Mot station whether to retest or not so the guy was trying to give you a break if you went to your local garage that did the work on your car and mot'd it for you they would have just checked the tyre and passed it. The same goes for the 21 day rectification slip the police give you if the garage does'nt know you they will take full mot cost.

was the car impounded?

i got pulled about 4 year ago with no brake lights it was the switch on the pedal gone,

but i was allowed to drive with escort as had young baby in car an soon as it teached garage it was impounded an had to have new brake switch and re moted then i had to go up cop shop and get it signed off.

no never impounded it , just told us to replace it and get it signed off

the garage i took it to said it needed to be re mot as that s what was on the sheet he gave me , when i explained what the vosa man said he told me it stated that it needed re mot
