The Duncan 802
Had a day off today and took the hmr out for some zero checking and paper punching at different ranges. It was nice to actually put some rounds thru it, something i've not had much chance to do for a long while. After 60 rounds, I was getting some half decent groups from 50 to 150 yards (well pretty ragged at 150 yards - more practise needed!) cloverleaf to 5p coin size which I was pleased with. If I didn't focus properly on my technique, the groups opened right up. The scope on my hmr is a cheapie JSR 4-16 x 50. Its done OK, but I feel its time to upgrade to something a bit more decent. So any suggestions? Cheers Duncan Quote Link to post
PMC 2
I'm using a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x50 on my Sako .22LR and have to say that I'm really happy with it. I'm sure it would do all you wanted. Good scope for a reasonable price in my opinion. PMC Quote Link to post
tegater 789
I've now git the Nikon Monarch 3, 4-16 x 42 on mine and I am very pleased with it. (it replaced the Bushnell banner 3-9 x 40). I took it out the other day for some fast plinking at 40mm firebird targets between -150 yards, and the clarity was great. I have used it endlessly in low light and with the lamp for Charlie and bunnies with no complaint. Quote Link to post

Cheers Duncan You will probably have to spend a lot more to get better glass, what you are likely to get if you spend a bit more, is simply something that may respond when you turn the turrets and be a better build quality...does yours have the allen key lock on the turrets...pain in the arse......the glass is very good for the money!
