My pup broke her leg :(

my collie grey x whippet has broke her leg this morning absolutely gutted! my doberman ran into her, took her to the vets and they done a xray and said she got a really bad broken leg came back her legs in plaster and she aint allowed to walk for six weeks so sad shes on loads of antibiotics :( just wondering will this effect her working ability?? the vet said she should be ok but i just want a second opinon of you guys.. Thanks

you cant tell mate tbh youl just have to sit it out keep her on a lead for a good few months get some calsium tablets for it and get some good food into her she should come good but atb to you mate and good luck donk :thumbs:

fingers crossed shell be ok, where would i get the calcuim tabs from mate? and thanks hopefully shell make full recovery :)

a boy round our way had the exact same cross was running to young and the same happened broke its leg think he has it back out chasing after a 8 week lie up just waiting for it to happen again hope it works out for you atb

 

ahh never, yeah she not allowed to go off my lap for 6 weeks they said only allowed down for a wee bless got to pay 50pound every 5 days to change the dressing :(

way back my dog broke his leg,,he could catch hares nd take squatters on lamp after his front leg was broke he flat refused to chase hares,,but he could catch rabbits on lamp nd in day jumping nd retreaving live to hand..

 

ahh sounds like he healed ok thanks for comment makes me feel a little better :)

my bro had a bullx that snapped its leg at 3 months. had it fxed at vets said it will be ok kept it in for 9 months then got it fit for 2 months had it out on the lamp about 20 times was fine. then it was running round on the local park in the day on its own and snapped the same leg in the same place so was pts
