rossi_j 99
As the season draws to a close, the dog rests up and the ferrets sign on the dole, im thinking about blowing the dust out of the air rifle for a bit of pest potting through the warmer months, I have a aas410 in lovely condition but if im honest i have grown a little cold towards it and have been considering a change of rifle for a little while, the three sping/gas ram rifles that i have on my shortlist for consideration are - 97k Tx200 hc theoben evoloution k factors i have taken into consideration when picking these rifles are- Length reliability Build quality I have heard over and over again peoples opinions of the aa and the hw so i know they are a safe bet, however i am realy interested in the theoben having never owned or even fired a gas ram, so would realy appreciate hearing the opinions of those who have properly put the theoben through its paces. . . . . Thanks in advance for any information. .atb. .ste. On a side note, i am open to any genuine offers from trusted members. build quality Edited February 28, 2012 by rossi_j Quote Link to post

rossi_j 99
You ever shot an evo davy ? If so may i have your opinion, its appealing to me as it comes in the shortest out of the three for shooting from the truck. Quote Link to post
Acuspell 329
Theobens are beautifuly built, especially the old ones. i have several! 1986 Grand prix, I was htting .177 pellet holes with it the other day, just leaning over the bike on its stand and using the tin panniers as a rest to lean on. Brilliant rifle, a target rifle really. the first production FT rifle really. After all tis tim eit is still kicking out 11.2 ft-lbs with cloverleaf 5 shots at 30 yards. A bit long for shooting from a vehicle though. next up is the 1995 Olympus, again in .177. Just as accurate, but with a better walnut thumbhole stock and shorter barrel with HE ram. Glorious, light, yet solid, perfect balance for offhand shooting. A handy rifle. The next one is a Taunus, in .20 calibre. 1996. The shortest of the bunch. Fabulous build quality and perfect handling. Built on an ambidextrous stock rather than the thumbhole the Taunus usually came with. My favourite of the lot. It just works. 2001 SLR98 7-shot magazine fed under lever gas ram rifle. The magazine system that gave rise to the Rapid 7 (same magazine used in both). Long and heavy but probably the best "spring" rifle ever built. Some might argue a Wiscombe is...this is also incredibly accurate due to the fixed barrel. The build quality of all these rifles is way above HW and even AA springers. The bluing is deep and perfectly polished underneath, which is why there is such a deep lustre to it. Accuracy is inbuilt, provided you know how to shoot them. Reliability is too - none of mine have ever leaked or missed a beat. I really don't know how people who say they have troubles get the problems they do. Perhaps it is a mechanical sympathy that is missing. I cannot speak highly enough of them. gurtwurz 792
I had an evo a couple of years back steve, nice airgun. I found it was a bit hard on a couple of scopes, due to its snappyness, but very accurate, on a par with a hw80 i'd say. In fact having got used to springers again, its a rifle I'd definitely consider again or maybe a slr cos of its multi shot capacity and fixed barrel. Definitely a rifle that'll do the job for you mate. Although not as good as my pro sport... Cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
