Up here they don't need to live like that ,1/2 mile stretch of were I was brought up and fell over a 3 storey balcony when I was younger,was knocked down due to it been seen as substandard,done us alright, built brand new New Build,locals rehoused ? No ,nearly every house has been allocated to those in need,ie,new arrivals to our welcoming Country,Jack Mc Connnels legacey,all his trips to Malawi,and social engineering,born and brought up here ,aint got enough housing points !,I had to buy and put a millstone round my neck to put a decent roof above my KIDS head,thats who we should be thinking off,our Fathers ,Grandfathers had ways off making sure you could live in the community you were brought up in if you chose to do so,I think we don't group together as they did,since Thatcher sold the dream ?

Try and put it in to perspective before the usual media-fueled tantrums kick in. They are sending back a tiny amount of money, they aren't exactly looking down on everyone and taking the piss on 26k a year benefits. They are trying to give their families a better life, the same thing I would do if I was unlucky enough to have born in a shithole country like most people. You can respect them for living in squalor so their families can reap the rewards thousands of miles away, even if you disagree with how our government deals with the issues of immigration.

 

So simple solution, send them all home and bulldoze the shanty town and get on with your lives. It just doesn't seem like a big deal if you compare things like this to the billions spent on the olympics or the endless list of other complete wastes of money.

If I had a ten thousand rooms and wouldn't notice you being there, if it didn't make any significant difference to my life then why would I care if you were there or not? I would lose nothing, but if you were homeless you would feel like you have gained a great deal. The problem would only come if you told all of your mates that I was an easy mark and that small amount is multiplied.

So I don't care if there are a few people picking up a few crumbs from our very fortunate society, I don't really understand why anyone would except for blatant nationalistic fury against any outsiders.

 

I am just trying to see things from the other side of the fence, if I knew I could give my family a better life by working illegally abroad I would be on the first lorry over. I would take a tiny amount from that country and make a big difference to my families life, so I can fully sympathise with it. But like I said, it does become a problem when we have the mass immigration we have today. But this is a specific example of a slum for understandable reasons, not people leeching off the benefit system with I think is the real problem so there is a big difference. However the solution should be the same for any illegal immigrant (and most of the legal ones too imo), send them home and don't get stressed about it.

Every time one of them takes even the worst job it's a job that should have been filled by someone who is unemployed young or old. The government just wont acknowledge the damage to our society. Every child raised in a home where the parents never work are set bad examples and school leavers can end up on the scrap heap before they've even had a chance in life.

 

When I was young the first couple of jobs were terrible but it gave you the inspiration to try harder and move on for either money or for a more fulfilling job. The companies that hire foreign workers for unskilled jobs are doing a terrible disservice to the country.

The problem is they want to go home, they really do, no work, expensive rents for slum sheds, they don;t want to stay! Trouble is when they get here the first thing they do is destroy all the identification papers and passports so they can't be returned home. They are now all trying to get home voluntarily to claim on the free cash they can get for bogging off, trouble is without their ID papers no country wants to know and take forever to produce new papers for the illegals!

What gets me is that the illegals in this case are from India. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought India had one of the worlds fastest growing economies. Fair enough there are massive areas of underdeveloped impoverished areas there, but if it was work they were after surely it'd be easier for them to move to the areas of their own country were all the action was taking place? It happened in this country during the industrial revolution, there was a massive exodus from rural areas into the cities where the work was. No, I think this has got little to do with work and all to do with the rest of what our country has to offer. Things we can afford to offer our citizens after a few hundred years of investment, advancement and a lot of hard work..
