They come here illegally to take advantage of our country at a time of hardship, f**k em. I hope the authorities deal with them apropriately, both the illegal imigrants and the landlords. They are sending back a tiny amount of money, they aren't exactly looking down on everyone and taking the piss on 26k a year benefits. They are trying to give their families a better life, the same thing I would do if I was unlucky enough to have born in a shithole country like most people. You can respect them for living in squalor so their families can reap the rewards thousands of miles away, even if you disagree with how our government deals with the issues of immigration. So simple solution, send them all home and bulldoze the shanty town and get on with your lives. It just doesn't seem like a big deal if you compare things like this to the billions spent on the olympics or the endless list of other complete wastes of money. The impression I am getting from the news is that we are to feel sorry for these people and shocked at the poor conditions they are forced to live in in our super 1st world country. I don't blame them at all, I would quite happily take advantage of another country if it improved my own families quality of life. But that doesn't give me any sympathy for them or compassion. Like I said, they came here to take advantage of our country at a atime of national hardship and they copped out. If I had a ten thousand rooms and wouldn't notice you being there, if it didn't make any significant difference to my life then why would I care if you were there or not? I would lose nothing, but if you were homeless you would feel like you have gained a great deal. The problem would only come if you told all of your mates that I was an easy mark and that small amount is multiplied. So I don't care if there are a few people picking up a few crumbs from our very fortunate society, I don't really understand why anyone would except for blatant nationalistic fury against any outsiders. I am just trying to see things from the other side of the fence, if I knew I could give my family a better life by working illegally abroad I would be on the first lorry over. I would take a tiny amount from that country and make a big difference to my families life, so I can fully sympathise with it. But like I said, it does become a problem when we have the mass immigration we have today. But this is a specific example of a slum for understandable reasons, not people leeching off the benefit system with I think is the real problem so there is a big difference.
