jasperdog 98
Saterday the 25 may was on the rats after farm had said they're was plenty around, started very slow but pick up and soon had a dozen in the bag. We had the farmer put the gabber into a manure pile and out they came to play. Moved onto the second farm and it was a free for all the terriers were at them. We went into a biulding that was used for storing feed and machinery, the terriers started marking some of the machines and with a few well placed ferrets the rats started jumping out. Decided to move some straw about and let the ferrets loose with lots of rats bolting every were. A good day with a total of 76. 1 Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Used to be at all the time but dont own ferrets anymore .Miss it really but you cant do it all and do it properly .Ferrets can and do get injured according to the temperament of the individual .Its easy to lump all ferrets in the same can but far from it .Some ferrets like to mix it as well as some terriers but some will turn their backs the same as straight baying terriers .Bites sometimes result in an abcess if not cleaned well which means a trip to the vet .Good ratting ferrets are generally those that wont fight a rat and come out to re~enter elsewhere.Never lost a ferret in active duty but had a few die from bad bites .
