woolbr8stl 0
Met up with a couple of friends and headed out to check a new farm and visit an old one. First stop was the dairy, we had no luck in the fields so we headed to an outbuilding behind this old house. Tyke wasted no time finding something good. We found a sandbag in his way which was left by the farmer. Tyke worked a very tight tube but couldn't get far. I looked over the other side of the feed bin and saw a very small groundhog stick it's head out. We quickly decided to leave this place alone and let the young ones be until next time. We loaded up to head to the new farm down by the river We met the owner's wife and headed down to the fields where he was working. We said our introductions and he pointed out a few places to us. Turned out to be a very beautiful place. We walked behind the clubhouses on the river and soon my friends bitch was in baying on a hog. It started to bolt and was dispatched. Down by the river we only found a few settes. It was very sandy and we agreed with the flooding on occasion this was not the best part of the farm to check. Th farmer stopped to talk and we showed him the hog. he seemed very pleased. Sure was a nice way to introduce ourselves to a new customer  . My friend took it home for a neighboring falconer to feed his hawks. he told us of a place in the middle of the field by the electric pole. We drove out and Tyke did his best to get in another tight place next to the pole. We started to drop a hole a few feet back and immediately smelled skunk. We pulled him and dropped a poison gas bomb in taking care of it . I guess he forgot his previous lesson on skunking  After that we headed home, all in all happy with the new farm and the nice day we had.
