Mike; That's got to be the most fasinating thing I've seen in a long time! Down your way, I take it? I'm guessing ye did rattle a stick down there and see if anything snapped shut on it?

Only it looks too short for an artificial earth. Too big for a trap set. Yet suspciously fresh and well maintaned for a Sough ..... Soughs should be found around proper, organised Coursing fields and who's going to be running such meets these days? Yet what illegal hare hunter would want to afford the quarry an escape route?

Bottom line? F*cked if I can work it out! But what a fasinating thing!

Wonder if anyone else here can shed any light on it? :hmm:

There would be little point in putting something like that in situ as a refuge for a hare,..most serious predators would soon have the fecker out.... ;) At first sight, they appear to be very amateurish 'cubby's' placed in a natural run thru,..to accept some kind of spring trap.

Mind you,..they do look kinda odd,..and something about them is not quite right.... :hmm::hmm:

Well spotted though Sir,... :clapper::clapper: Keep us posted...

Regards, 'Curious of Hayling'... :drink::drink:

:laugh: ...OK boss!

It is a straight through tube and on the public footpath, dog shows no interest in it so doubt it's ever been used by game.....yet! I shall take a closer look next time I'm out that way.

No, not a rat trap!

Went back up that way this afternoon got some more pictures for you guys to browse over.

I noticed a new sign in the area ‘Conservation area etc’…

As you can see, bottom left of pic’, it’s at the end of a hedge by a large opening into the field..

Viewed from the opposite angle you can see a large opening through to the other field..

The openings viewed from both sides..

And the view through, as you can see nought has been using this tube!

I would agree, perhaps a keeper is just setting up a few tunnels in various spots ready for the summer, but to be honest any serious trapping program would be well under way by now.

So who knows :blink:
