Guest boyo
my mate has a 20" whippet bitch that as taken loads of foxes, agree with the earlier comment though she does take a lot of punishment Quote Link to post
lucky 578
what are the disadvantages of doubling a dog up or is it just a "the dog shouldnt need it" type thing?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when doubleing up the dogs are'nt really being tested and i think good fox dog can kill a fox far quicker on it's own rather than when it's doubled up i always run my dogs single handed as i think its more sporting, humane and the only real way to test the dog Quote Link to post
Kane 2
I wouldnt keep a dog that wouldnt kill a fox single handed but then again I dont like to see a fox get away so if I have a pair of lurchers they both get slipped.A 14 pound fox IMHO isnt that much of a challenge to a decent lurcher. But I just dont like them to get away. Guest Bull Cross
I only double up when bringing on a new dog or when there's a Y in the day :11: Quote Link to post
Guest bez_3d
I AGREE THAT A DOG SHOULD ONLY REALLY BE NEEDED TO BE DOUBLED UP ON CHARLIE WHEN ITS HAS HAD NO EXPERIENCE. RUN DOGS SINGLE HANDED FOR SPORT. DOUBLED UP FOR CONTROL. THATS MY OPINION. Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
LovableGit had a whippet that did foxes no bother at all Be aware though that when you say whippet, you are talking about animals that can range from 15lb to 45lb and upwards. There are lots of different types of "whippet" Quote Link to post
Kane 2
Gits bitch was a Bull/whippet/grey back to whippet/grey. Quote Link to post
