matt1979 766
Mini schnauzer, used for marking holes with the ferrets, bushing, general mooching, chasing rabbits (without success), retrieving (mainly a tennis ball, but the odd pheasant, dead calves head, woody, sqiurrel and one pike and one perch from the local fishing pool) oh and warming the feet, an allround worker. COSH 14
Seen a good foxhound/greyhound that made a cracking lamper. Also seen a few great pointer crosses. Never seen a working poodle, or poodle cross, but surely pretty much anything crossed with a greyhound would catch game? Quote Link to post
hok boi 40
years ago when i was a kid, my dad had a deerhound/greyhound x alsatian/greyhound, this boy was dynamite on hares and foxes. i was only about 7 or 8 and i was devastated when he was given away. Quote Link to post

beast 1,884
Saw a greyhound x husky a few years ago, strong fast and would run all day but thick as pigs##t and wouldn't even recall properly. Tough as old boots though, and superb coat and feet. Quote Link to post
Neal 1,873
I used to have a collie x whippet which never caught a single rabbit for me and I lost count of the number of times I walked her on the local rabbit-infested area and met old ladies with pampered lap dogs and was told, "My naughty little doggy caught another rabbit yesterday." I came close to asking one of them to swap her laso apso (sp). 2 Quote Link to post
