I will be making it quite long with a big exercise area to keep them busy

My mate at work used to work ferrets and has told me a lot of info but it would be great to hear of others

Cheers .

2x2 flagstones for the base.. theres pipes, hammocks and fluffy things hanging from the lid for them to rag on... rocks for them to climb about on and ferns n stuff i throw in there for them to roll about in.. its 6x4x3.5 ft.. cost less than £70 to make if i remember correctly :)

please ignore the mess in the shed that pic was before i totally sorted it out.

hope that helps

yea thats what i wanted to do but the misses was kicking off enough couldnt be bothered with the chew...

6ft x 4ft and 3.5ft high is plenty for my 3 ferrets (was 4 until today) they get alot of excercise in there since i havent been able to walk for a good while.

one thing i will say is make sure its secure.. they are bloody escape artists.. ive had to fold the mesh right under the wood.. its sank into the stones about an inch too

concrete base because its easy to clean and keeps there claws down to a degree... and they cant dig there way out

theres MUCH MUCH better runs from lads on here thats just a basic idea :)

Yeah, i knew this would be picked up on, the roof actually lies flat with fastening clips, making it impossible to escape, i started keeping Ferrets 43 years ago, so I know all about their escapes,

ferts had only been put in whilst photo was taken, thats why i stuck the logs on top,

should have mentioned this, been using the run for 6 months, they are in there on dry days up to 5 hours,

and if that jill could escape she would have.

Cheers for the pics lads some good runs there

I have got a 4ft wide by about 20 ft long space so am going to build a nice big run and rhe hutch at the back so they can go in and out as they please ill have to make the run roof water proff so they dont get wet or will it be to closed in for them ill put a pile of bricks and slabs in one corner for them to climb about on and some tubes to I thinking of getting some clear tubes so i can see them but will that take the fun out of it for the ferrets ??
