matt1979 766
Second the bakers comment above, its crap food and full of additives, colourings etc and i dont think this will help the problem. Get the pup on a better quality dry food without the shite added and a higher protein content, especially at that age. I always feed 4 x a day at that age as well, cheers. Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
Just an adendum; every dog I've ever had has sampled shit as a pup, been told to 'leave' it firmly and learnt not to eat it. Dogs digestive systems are not the most efficient, so there will be the smell of undigested or semi digested food in the stools. Smells enticing to uninitiated pups! Cat digestive systems are even less efficient than dogs, so cat dookies smell even nicer to pups. Totally agree that Bakers is poor quality, overpriced dog food. Quote Link to post
welshviper 3
http://www.dogtrainingatoz.com/dog-behavior/why-do-dogs-eat-poop/ read this page and it explains why the dog could be eating its own faeces and it also gives tips on how to stop them doing it hope it helps and all the best with the pup Quote Link to post
Col_c88 41
I've heard its down to them wanting to digest the nutrients again. Not sure if theres any truth in it though. Duncan's advice should work, but all in all I wouldnt worry about it too much, it wont harm the pup, its just not pleasant for you. dunno about dogs but i know Rabbits do this.. and i know you can eat deer shit since thats full of nutriants and they dont re-eat theirs my terrier used to eat the cats when he was a pup just out of curiosity.
