jasper65 6
He's 9 & the condition he's got is called cystinuria. He lacks the enzyme to break down a protein called cystine, and it can lead to a build up and the formation of cystine stones in the kidneys, bladder, etc. We were lucky in a way because he passed a little stone when he was 18 months old and it was diagnosed early. It usually shows much later in life when actual stones have formed and started causing serious kidney damage. We control it by making sure his urine is as diluted as possible (2+ litres of fluid daily) and measuring the PH of it to make sure it's not too alkaline. Avoiding dehydration is the key, so if he has an illness where he's having trouble keeping his fluids down he has to go into hospital and onto a drip. He has ultrasound scans once a year, and so far his specialist is impressed with how he's coping with it on his own because the condition gives a 90% re occurrence rate of stone formation, and touch wood he's been clear up until now.. It's a rare, inherited recessive disease so me & his mother are carriers. One ethnic doctor asked if me and his mother were related the first time he went into hospital to go on a drip as it's that rare.. I told her that we're from completely opposite sides of the UK so it was highly fecking unlikely.. He's one brave little lad malt, kids of that age somtimes seem to cope better than adults when it comes to any sort of illness. one of the wifes relations has a Daughter who's skin litteraly starts to peel off and blister when ever she goes outside in the sun she always has to have cream caked onto her to stop her blistering. think she also has to drink a set amount of fluids each day to stop her skin drying out. met her on a couple of occasions and she is the sweetest little kid you could meet, she never moans about it and takes it all in her stride.... socks 32,253
Right...... I want to go the gym atleast 5 times a week, for fitness atleast. So should I do 5 days of cardio and of 3 of them do weights as well. I don't want to be training for nothing 5 days a week. Can I eat anything??? Tried to keep on things like tuna, soup and chicken for lunch but can I eat bread and pastry stuff without adding weight to areas I don't want....like stomach??? If you want to seriously lose excess fat and tone up then you need to do 5 days of cardio and within those 5 days do 3 days of toning weights say on a Monday Wednesday and Friday. Do the weight sessions before the cardio as that will get your heart rate up to the desired fat burning rate so it means you are instantly fat burning when you start your cardio rather than building up to it. As for foods mate then yes bread pastries chocolate alcohol will all hinder your progress and put weight on where you don't want it I never stopp drinking or eating specific foods when I was training seriously BUT I did take them all in moderation

I'll just keep to eating the same stuff but maybe I could eat more of it and maybe egg on toast at night after my dinner? Think I'll miss a few days if weights too and I'm going to change from 3 sets of 10 reps to 3 sets of 8 on a heavier weight. Some great tips here lads..... Thanks very much P.s socks.... You better take that pic down before GrCh sees it or he'll make a mess of his laptop.... Lol
Marvin 193
, Don't just try to build up biceps and triceps or you'll look like one of them twats with big arms and puny everything else. Couldn't agree more Do Bench Press (builds chest and triceps) would this be incline/decline/flat? how many reps? how many sets? dumbbells/barbells or machine press? smith or bench? Overhead Press (also called military press) dumbbells/barbells or machine? Seated/standing/from the floor or from a rack? behind the neck or down to chest? how many sets/reps? Squats (one of the biggest and best lifts to do. Increased production of your testosterone and HGH) full ass to floor working the negative or just to parallel? zercher/hack/box/front or regular? Deadlifts ( a massive core lift) straight legged/raised or regular? would this be a better core lift as I think would work the larger group of muscles if performed correctly ? Barbell bent over rows are these better than lat pull downs or chin ups for building a better/bigger/thicker/back from ? Look up a routine called Starting Strength.Read it properly and in detail do not just skip through it. Eat about 1 gram of protein for every lb of your LEAN body mass how many grams of carbs and fats alongside the protein?. You will gain results all over and look better than someone who does 10 different types of bicep curls everyday of the week. :hmm: i wouldn't listen to internet experts either................... Regards . A noticable difference could be seen just by cutting back on white bread alone and drinking 3-4 litres of water a day (dont worry ye wont drowned lol)
B.P.R 2,798
To build bigger biceps you need to build triceps. Triceps are 2/3rd of your upper arm. Theres lots of ways to go about it, different programs and exercises. I was big into bodybuilding for around 14 months. I took many different substances and after 14 months of hard work I reached 16 stone solid. I then totally stopped the gym and in 4 months lost 3 stone. Stretch marks on my arms, back and chest. I would do a program that suits you, something simple like 3 times a week. Tri's / chest Biceps/ shoulders Back/ legs Abs on each of the days. You need to increase your calorie intake and put on a bit of weight. Eat as many small meals a day as you can that consist of good protein such as chicken/ fish and carbs such as potato/ rice/ pasta. Protein shakes 3 times a day. Morning Mid afternoon And as you get into bed.(with milk) Your body still feeds and needs food when your sleeping. Remember that it won't happen over night and that you will need to put on a little fat to build muscle and then diet/ cardio training to lose the fat but keep at the weights. I have used steroids and although they do work I wouldn't reccomend them. I was gutted what happened to me. Plus you've got abscesses to think about. Basics are: Work hard at the gym. Plenty of rest for the muscles to recover (that's when they grow) Lots of GOOD food And don't over do it. Good luck

Cheers Malt ....its not what i was thinking it was.....thank god !.....didnt like to say but the disease i was thinking about is often not survivable into double figures, hence i asked your lads age........i think im right in saying the type of kidney stones your referring to will be suffered by something like 1 in 20,000 people......so although rare certainly not as rare as the other thing......best of luck to the little lad anyway.....and good on you for arming yourself with as much info as possible, its all we can do i guess. Regarding the training as I said look up the program Stronglifts 5x5, it is a good BEGINNERS program that will see good results for people with little experience if followed right. Regarding carbs and fats, that depends how many calories you want to eat, PERSONALLY for me right now I am trying to cut down so I am on 2100 odd calories = 180g protein , Im getting 170g of carbs and 80g of fat. If you look online you can find formula's to work out how much you need
