kanny 20,453
ive been giving great thought recently about applying for my fac and sgc i have enough permision to warrant a scud launcher but would only be going for a .22 rimmy and a shotgun. im 40 years old now and time to move up i think... ive read through the application and it all seems pritty straight forward the only problem i have is in the previous convictions. i have 2 minor incedents to my ny name well over 10 years ago problem is i cant remember exact dates is this a problem? can i request a copy of my previous from the local law? kanny Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
A lot will depend on what the convictions are for. If I were you and I was in two minds I would pick up the phone and call your local firearms office and have a talk with them and see what they say. Hope that helps Jonno Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,935
As long as the two "minor convictions" weren`t kidnapping and armed robbery !!! hahahaha  They know the dates, but you`re local plod will be able to tell you, as will the FEO when he visits you at home. ATB good luck Quote Link to post
nasher1 258
As said before just put the year down, and be completely honest dont miss anything out including speed school instead of points, if you are totally upfront with them and your convictions convictions were fairly minor (no prison time). they should give you what you want atb nasher Quote Link to post
Simonrees 45
I had a Firearms conviction when I was 16! But still have my SGC and FAC. it was only shooting a gatgun on some wasteland at cans but I was charged with "Discharging an Air weapon in a public place" Quote Link to post

Just fill in the forms and go for it. Quote Link to post
TWOTWOTHREE 152
I think I depends on the decision makers of your police force, but you was let out after a week obviously their mistake by how you explained it,a bloke I used to work with years back had done far worse things than you and he had sgc and fac due to the fact that it was In his younger years.it's not for me to state his offences it's not my place to,but comparing records there's a good chance you should be ok Atb Quote Link to post
