I 100% agree because I know few baboons with dogs ATB

Let me try and shed some light on this. It was the Arcadians who first began breeding dogs for hunting and began churning out various types of what we now refer to as dogs (10million yrs B.C.) The l

Tapestry of birth of Christ that hangs in the Vatican. Bottom left is a dog of certain sighthound blood,so just how long have such dogs been around??

Look it up they have been clocked at higher speeds than greyhounds, they are one of natures ultimate athletes

WHERE? THE SAME PLACE IT TOLD US THAT THE SALUKI WAS THE FASTEST DOG? RUNNING AT GREYHOUND SPEED IN THE BAKING HEAT ON SOLID UNDULATING TERRAIN. THROUGH BUSH SCRUB & OTHER OBSTACLES THAT GREYHOUND PACE WOULD BE A DISADVANTAGE AS AN INJURED ANIMAL IS NOT MUCH USE IN THE PACK. DOES THEIR MUSCLE TONE SUGGEST AN ANIMAL THAT IS AS FAST AS THE MUSCLE TONE OF A GREYHOUND? I AGREE THEY ARE GREAT NATURAL ATHLETES

Look it up, cheetahs don't seem to do too bad with their blistering pace in the same habitat

THE CHEETAH IS A LONE HUNTER RELYING ON SHORT TERM ENDURANCE & PACE. HUNTING DOGS RELY ON THE PACK & HAVING GREATER STAMINA THAN THEIR QUARRY OVER MILES. WHY HAVE A PACK THAT CAN BE 20 OR MORE STRONG FOR THE CHASE & MORE MOUTHS TO FEED WHEN THEY CAN REACH SUCH SPEEDS. EVOLUTION CLEARLY HAS FAILED HERE THEN? LOOK IT UP WHERE? WIKIPEDIA ETC? WHERE THEY SAY A HUNTING DOG(LYCAON PICTUS PICTUS) CAN RUN 50mph OR 35MPH & GREYHOUND IS THE FASTEST BREED OF DOG THAT CAN RUN 35MPH OR 45MPH??? SORRY THATS WHY I STEER CLEAR OF SUCH NONSENSE IM AFRAID..atb.Optimus

Well nobody is sure how fast creatures run, I've heard cheetahs run at about 60mph but I've also read they can reach 70mph, I doubt that speed is true tbh

Painless, You find it hard to believe that early man could not have created the Saluki from the Gray wolf, you seem to feel it was beyond their technical capabilities. So what are your views on the Chihuahua surely this is a feat of super human endevers to produce a dog so small from such a large wolf. There are thirty nine sub species of the Gray Wolf which also happens to be the widest ranging mammal on earth after man apologies woman. Of the thirty nine sub species of wolf that could possibly be the fore father of the saluki and probably all sight hounds, Iwould have to suggest Canus Lupus Arabs. This wolf is from the geographical region from where these dogs are believed to of originated. Canus Lupus Arabs stands at twenty six inch to the shoulder and weighs twenty two kilogrammes it is also short haired. I would have thought , that with a thousand years of hunting and racing and a let's say two hundred generations of breeding , the wolf would be changing into the saluki both in looks and ability. How it grew the fancy ears I have no idea,I am not a genius. There are some good images on the net type in " images for Canus Lupus Arabs" cheers Sherlock.

If you look at the link to the article on the silver fox breeding project, you can see that they reckon that the same genes which give docility, the ability to become tame and submissive, are linked to floppy ears and colour variations outside the norm for foxes. Says it all in my opinion. Genes are such a complicated thing: we still don't understand them properly today.

A project is underway to find the genetic basis for taming. Researchers at the Max Planck Institute in Germany have obtained two sets of rats bred in Russia. One was selected for aggresiveness and another for tame ness, mimicking the process by which Neolithic farmers first domesticated animals.( lifted of wiki).

My apologies people, if I rose to the bait and got involved in a slanging match. I'm sorry Chartpolski if I misinterpreted your " on my level" comment as a dig at my intelligence coz I don't have a degree like you do. I've been thinking about your comment, and your Conspiracy Theory digs. When you say "level", you mean Initiation level don't you? What level Freemason are you? You jumped in at the mention of Ancient Sumer (Sumaria) in an attempt to derail the thread coz you ALREADY KNOW all the details of what I'm saying! It nearly worked so good try! I know we Goyim aren't supposed to know real History but it's there for anyone to examine once you know it's relevant..... bloody interesting stuff too! I always wondered why the Masons were obsessed with putting Obelisks everywhere, bloody ugly things if you ask me! I know that there are 300,000 Masons in the UK so I shouldn't be too surprised to find one on this web-site. Sherlock, you are hot stuff! I haven't had a chance to look at your Lupus variety yet but I will. Part of my problem with accepting a wolf as a simple ancestor to say, a Saluki, is that the Sighthounds have so many dominant genes for their type. The distinctive head shape with its pronounced occipital crest is unlike a Wolf. You can see it in some other breeds, like Setters which I reckon might be ancient Lurchers bred off Spaniel foundation stock. Setters will run all day and are a bit short on trainability/brains.... sound familiar? atb Painless

2Painless2btrue do you believe every evolutionary biologist to be under some kind of oath to keep us from the truth? I dont think so myself. Im enjoying reading your posts, although it could be seen as disrespectful to state YOU HAVE DONE THE RESEARCH, as though you assume noone else has, or they couldnt possibly have come to a different conclusion. I'm happy to consider an opinion that conflicts with my own anytime, and there have been some cracking posts on here that give pause for thought. I do respect others rights to freedom of thought, and more importantly their freedom of speech. I don't think any researchers have taken an oath to keep us in the dark... TPTB don't need to do that.... any conflicting research just doesn't get published in main-stream journals! A classic example of this is the existence of 'The Mound Builders' of North America aka the Mississipean Culture. They predate the American Indians, (who were Stone Age or 'Clovis Point'') and were metal workers. They've been found buried sitting upright, clothed in armour, had 2 rows of teeth and were up to 9 feet tall! Worthy of a mention I'd say, but most people have never heard of em. Am I wrong? OOPARTS ( Out Of Place Artefacts) remember? I've seen it suggested that the Smithsonian Institute, which is called out to examine strange finds, collects the bones which are never heard of again! Where's the research that the subject deserves? The world is not the place you think it is, not by a long shot! I think my suggestion to readers to do the research has prompted people to look at some of subjects mentioned, if only to find ammunition to shoot me down, arrogant b-stard that I appear to be! That's the whole point, I want people to look in areas that they wouldn't normally coz they are fascinating, or don't you think so? Thanks for the input Wally, atb Painless

as much as you find it hard to belive the sighthounds came from wolves,,,,,, i find it hard to belive , that you cant see the similarity

whilst most animals of a particular species look alike,, have a closer look and difrences can be found,, only last week i was paying close attention to two rabbits hanging out side my house with 50 odd others,,, these two had slightly smaller ears,,, no big deal of course...and i dare say if they had got the opertunity to breed with other normal sized eared rabbits then the offspring would have been normal,

same in a wolf pack there are individual animals that all varey slighly in hight weight, speed ect,, now if you pic out one of those traights and breed them together with another with similar traights for a few generations,, then your going to get a difrent looking animal..........

i think you should take a closser look at a wolf,,, and get past the thik fur,, they have deep chests and quite long muzels

Painless, how did you hear about the "mound builders" I would like to bet it was on sky television on one of those conspiracy or alien type programmes, that's where I first heard about it . These jerks are trying to add confusion two ignorance in order to make cheap moronic television programmes. These programmes are usually made by religious fanatics with the aim of deceiving people into believeing that the biblical creation myth is true, and that the earth and mankind is only six thousand years old. As for there being a cover up about the "mound builders" there is extensive information on the inter net . Cheers Sherlock.

Totally agree there tomo, also a different diet ie feed every day with enough food to last it till the day after in stead of gorging like they do in the wild . A wild wolf can eat between 12 and 15lbs of meat in one sitting. The homly comforts of the warm cave or camp fire would have had a massive effect on the wolfs coat, the desert can be very cold at night. We have all heard of boys and toys after the first wolf pup was tamed I bet the idea spread like wild fire. Cheers Sherlock.
