stubby 175
either, A, turn the electrics off at the meter, then using pliers get the broken bit out, or B, dont use that light/leave switched off... C, if you hear noises in the night, just say BEETLEJUICE 3 times
jacob 28
usually faulty bulbs just dont work, for now just unplug everything that can be unplugged at night and dont overload any sockets .

Guest The Big Fish
If your concerned that your place is haunted (and if i was you, i would be afraid, very afraid ) you have two options, firstly you could call in our resident ghost buster 'bigdan' cause he is medium, or is A medium and will have a quiet word with the offending entity. Secondly you could move in with me, and we could get busy PLEEEAAASSSUUURABLE I have no wiring issues whatsoever...
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Just a thought and I hope it dosnt worry you further but is there any chance there could be a small water leak above you [if you are top floor then sorry ].Bulbs dont exsplode through wiring problems ,the element goes and keep going every time its replaced .Water on a hot bulb makes them explode like that .Hope you get sorted . FastDogz 155
Feck off fish Foxdropper...yes i am ground floor and there has been more than one leak in the past in this block Not in this room though but the bedroom a pipe between floorboards was leaking (but fixed) - the bulb had only been on about 5-10 seconds when it exploded - but again there is like a brownish (damp looking) small gap near the fitting itself I think you could have just put your finger on it mate Edited to say - moments after i posted this i just looked at light fitting and there is a very very fine crack in the ceiling coming from the fitting barley noticable..quite a long crack too....
