The dog is 8 months old and probably doesn't even need puppy biscuit any more if it's getting other meat etc added in. And for what it's worth, Eukanuba is expensive but imo it's actually not very good food at all and I wouldn't feed mine on it.

Adding in a bit of tuna, raw chicken etc isn't going to make him fussy, it'll just remind him that he should be eating something if he's stressed out about the move.

My dogs have all been raised on a mostly raw diet. They do get biscuit as well sometimes but I use it as a mixer only - no biscuit should be considered 'complete'. But that's just my opinion.

Pup's can be fed upto the age of 12mth's on puppy food Jen depending on the breed and size of the pup..and Eukanuba is one of the leading brand's in dog nutrition that is why it is expensive..and giving them nice food over there usual food will make them picky been there and wore the tea shirt several time's.. ..it's not so bad with terrier's but lurcher's can be a pain in the butt if you give into them..

My dog's have all been raised the same over the year's on mainly a good complete base food with a small amount of raw and tinned added daily and all of them have matured into healthy adult's..so i must be doing something right.. :D ..the reason i feed mine like that is through stuff i have heard from good dog lad's over the year's but at the end of the day we all have different opinion's :tongue2: .

I dont agree with you there bunnys..Eukanuba puppy food has a lot more nutrition in it than tripe and chicken alone...maybe if you buy some of the cheaper puppy food's the pup would be lacking but not with Eukanuba..and i can't see where anyone mentioned not feeding a pup for a few day's.. :icon_eek: ..whoever said that want's banning from keeping dog's..

hi there fella read the post thorough you seems to have missed the key ingredient the bits has in bits of ingredient ha sone would use in feeding barf variety. atb bunnys.

one considers over time completes i have kept running dogs long before any complets wer on the market flesh tripe chicken mutton beef offal and yes whole grain brown brea dplus table scraps , i still feed my animals in this manner and they are the strong type that need high ebnergy levels , my pal runs 130 greys in his kennel and yes he uses gain has a filler with beef tripe this time of the yr in the cold spells the weight runs ofa them the only way to keep them right through training and racing his with flesh his preference beef . for that choose the complete way ti his there preference , but when a pup his in tansition and has taken on board some stress the quickest way to get on track his through his belly , grup care whatever feed play sleep . the diet can be adjusted accordingly over a period not stasrve the dog till it eats , with some types the sensitive type, that would be the wrong aproach , ueka may be a premium complete but a second to the real thing . atb bunnys.

I think i know what you mean there but imo the pup will come to no harm without food for 24hr's if need be..i am sure it will eat sooner than that..my main meaning is if you give in to a pup by feeding nice juicy food you will make a rod for your own back..

As for natural diet's to me it can not be duplicated in a domestic breed enviroment.. as we never know how much of each mineral every single dog need's..all there need's are different the same as us human's..i would rather give them everything a dog need's in a complete meal rather than guessing with a barf diet..if fed on complete they can pass any surpless through there kidney's and liver..but if they are lacking something from the barf diet you will not know..

hi ther fella i can assure you the very best way one can assume a animal his getting all he needs his with yourt eyes and knowing your stock , tripeflesh meat and offal there isint much more a dog needs other than a few grains which can be found in fresh cows bellys , aswell has minerals and amino acids etc , plus bone . fresh natural food his far away the premium of food stuffs whatever animal or human , these complete diets re nothing but fillers and they do a good job for that in most cases . my pal has large amounts of outdated pies delivered and he tells me these are has gpod has any biscuit .any way fella enjoyed the chin wag .atb bunnys.

I know most folks feed puppy biscuit for the first 12 months but I don't ... I've never had a large enough breed that requires it to be honest. Eukanuba is a leading brand yes - a brand, and a well advertised one but not a superior one. A lot of people believe that it is, but it's not really. It just costs a lot and they advertise it well. If you read the ingredients and compare them to other things you can see that actually it's not all it's cracked up to be. Furthermore if you're feeding additional, well balanced raw nutrition, you don't really need it in the 'complete' sense.

Fussiness will develop when you cater long term to a fickle eater but not usually with a dog who's feeling a bit stressed out. As, when that dog settles, it will usually happily eat what it's used to if it's happy in itself. Helping them a bit at a young-ish age after a move is usually ok. This dog is 8 months old and not so young that it will suddenly change it's mind about what it's used to. Besides, tuna and chicken are a good thing and should be part of their diet anyway
