The rings have been up for a few months now but finally got the Polethene and Doors on. Just the shelves to fit and thankfully finished. the soil seems ok plus I have a good supply of Horse manure to dig in shortly, not sure weather to raise the beds or leave it as it is?

we're a bit behind but Looking to get the summer veg up and running pretty soon. anyone got their veg planted and running by now?

she reckoned she wanted a extention mate, think she was hinting at me needing one .

finally got a extra Hoop and some other bits aswel as a new cover to knock it out a further 5FT, should keep her busy for a while. she's be wanting it finished for weeks but you know how it is! when the missus wants somthing done it goes to the bottom of the list :D.....

Looking good! :good:

I'd love to put one in my garden but the wind here would fecking destroy it. :(

I'm not so sure it would Malt. Fella back the road from me has one up and you can throw a stone into the sea from his. And the nearest land to shelter us from the wind is called America

If I drew a line from my place heading in the direction the Sou'Westerlies come from, the first bit of land I'd hit is South America! :D

All I know is that my neighbour had one shortly before we moved in here and it took off like a kite! :icon_eek:

Same as that here Malt, go onto Google Earth and type in Connemara, head a few miles North West of where it zooms you too and that's where we be ;)

Build it right and it'll stay where it's put.

Think they're normally pretty stable due to their shape which doesn't catch the wind compared to a greenhouse Malt . the last one we had I fitted a frame round the base and battoned the polythene to it which was fine.

on this one we trenched it in which was alot easier. the hoops have footings dug in a good 18 Inches and the polythene is trenched equally that if not more. been putting it off for months but now its up it should hopefully be beneficial............

I've seen wind break mesh at the gable end of one, which is considerably more inland than the one I was talking about, could be another thing to look into, I believe it's about 6 foot tall.

I looked into mesh, but I'm thinking of putting a 6ft wooden hit-and-miss type fence up for added privacy.:thumbs:

Just bought a place that came with a pollytunnel and as you can see it has taken a bit of tlc to get it anything like. Couldnt get in it to start with due to brambles filling it, but its now cleared and is looking the business. Even found a rotavator under the brambles and there are a couple of peach trees and a mulberry :victory:
