Shiting blood the vet should not off sent it home in the 1st place

Souns like Gastroenteritis to me, think it needs to be in the vets on a drip

Well the wee bitch seems back to normal! Vet insists although all is well on the outside, inside maybe a different story so it's blood samples every month for a while, she had hepatitis, jaundice, and

You can't beat someone with a bit of brain's and common sense when it come's to reading your dog and getting it to the vet's as soon as they need it.. :victory: ..she has the best chance of recovery being in the vet's on a drip.. ..the best of luck..

How do you work that out..i have had two different dog's shitting and spewing blood on seperate occasion's..enteritis was the cause of that.. another dog had colitis one time..all dog's where jabbed and antibiotic's given and recovered fine with the right after care..dog's can shite blood for a number of reason's and a lot of them don't warrent a stay in the vet's on a drip.

Vet suspects liver failure and signs are not good, kept in again, anyone had any experiences of this and what can I expect? Bill is at £400 Mark so far and money is not a concern if there's a chance she'll pull through but I'm not wanting to spend ££££ if it's a lost cause, cheers

Maybe its leptospirosis, in which case the symptoms are masked until it is too late. Horrible way to go as the liver literally disintegrates.

What do you think her chances are?

if it is lepto vertually nil, lets hope its not

Had a dog die from lepto all it done was drink load's of water and spew water...it never spewed blood or shite blood and it was the kidney's that where attacked not the liver..

If she is caught early and the kidney's dont take too much damage she will last a good few year's yet...but with lepto it's 50/50 she may live till old age once cured or she might go down hill at any time from kidney failure...don't give up on her though just keep trying what the vet's say till you have in your own mind what you want to do..never had any liver problem's with my dog but if the liver is a problem it can heal like Moll said.. and function on a very damaged liver..
