foxhunting1 74
Guys, I don't normally right on hunting life but after readying all this about Mr Nuttall's terriers I find it only fair to comment. Mr Brian Nuttall is a very knowledgable man with regards to working terriers and at the age of 75 yrs is still working is terriers on a semi professional basis for a local hunt, along with myself, how many of you can say at 75yrs you will still be working terriers ? Also you question the ability of Mr Nuttalls breading / terriers, let me tell you on 13th January 2007 "YES" this year we entered ratty a 11" bitch waying about 10 lbs, the earth looked small but on a large back. 11 hrs later and after digging 26 ft with the aid of a JCB we reached ratty and a large dog fox weighing in excess of 20 lbs. and you question the ability of this breading. . . . . . .. . . . . Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Brians stuff of old was definately bigger than whats around today and was also more EASILY ENTERED to earth work.Todays stuff is notorious for late starting ,which is where a lot of lads come unstuck and slag the type off .The work is still in them aplenty you just need to know a bit about terriers to get the best out of them .I've kept the type for 25 years plus so I know a bit on this subject .I hope people are put off by the late starters about now and leave it to people who know what they are doing . waz77 15
Mines 8yrs old now, still got her and still keep trying her but not interested at all.No one can deny the man knows more about the game than most of us lot put together and has bred more succesfull terriers than most will ever see.But at the same time no one can deny he's now churning them out for money.I know he still has his working stock but its not the same stock he's selling to all and sundry.I like the guy,you could'nt meet a nicer more knowledgable person, but for someone so knowledgable i would have expected more.I remember in an old interview he said it was one of his dislikes, now he's doing just that.
