george87 2
Hi guys and girls I am new on here and I would very much like your help and advice, I am getting a new pup in the summer, getting married in Mexico in may otherwise it would be sooner. Anyway I am wanting a lurcher of some kind, I would like a rough coated dog, i really like the look of beddy whippets but a like bigger dogs, it will be used for a bit of lamping and ferriting but mostly for getting out for a walk and catching the odd bunny and hopefully a bit of feathered game, any information pictures and advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance. Millet 4,497
Collie grey X Beddy grey..or Collie Grey X Deerhound Grey will give you a chance of a decent sized rough coated lurcher.. Quote Link to post

george87 2
Do bearded collies crosses make good lurchers? Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
Had a beddie grey collie grey..nice little bunnie dog ..also had the colie grey deerhound grey put to a saluki grey also a good dog..you wont go far wrong with a decent X of any of them type's imo just try a steer away from any whippet in the make up if you dont want a smallish dog.. george87 2
Thanks, suppose its down the handler in a lot of ways to how the pup turns out, is there any cross better than others at finding there own quarry if you no what I mean rather than been bolted by the ferrets or lamped? Sorry if i sound stupid or dont make sense? Just want to get the right dog for what I want. Quote Link to post
