whippeter69 88
Not really mate. I have got a double one ( two legs) and i can take rabbits up to 100yards with the .22lr on a still night. They are very handy for me and if my rifle is zeroed in then i dont miss that much off them. pipcock 21
yep,did have ,most of my shooting was from high seats but lately its been off sticks, wow what a difference.when i'm checking scope/zero etc before a stalk i usually shoot off a shooting bench and rests so no problems there . because i knew i was stalking with sticks i thought i would get some practice in ,Fek me a bit of wind and i couldn't even hit the A4 paper. Basically just practice more at targets, after a bit of target shooting i was getting them all within a 4" circle out to 175 yrd so i was confident to take deer and fox off sticks now, just try and use anything that helps steady you ,trees ,gates, 4x4s and just practice more. bob.243 8,895
Your better using a tripod as apposed to a bipod, it's a lot steadier. Quote Link to post
martin 332
It is all about practise mate, that is the bottom line. M Quote Link to post
hoodwink 1
Hi i just had a little instruction. try standing sideways on, rather than one foot in front of the other. you get less side ways movement, sorry if this is teaching granny to suck eggs! Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
best also to have the sticks leaning in towards you a little and not vertical, i find this helps loads but takes a little getting used to... practice alot and it will pay off... Quote Link to post
BLACK-GUN 94
i use a primos trigger stick, you can move this up, down, foward, back, left, right with just pulling the trigger and very steady. joe 1 Quote Link to post

I'll skip the bipod idea and go for the tripod, when I try sticks. For some reason this reminds me of the old joke that if God had intended men and women to be equal, men wouldn't have been born with a third leg. Quote Link to post
