Sometimes, it's not the 'head count' which shows class, it's HOW the 'head count' was achieved. I have seen lots of Hares being kicked up out of their seats, to be chased and caught by pacey, stick like glue dogs. I have also seen slips where there was at least yards law, on the Fens, with January Hares with some of the course on Plough and a kill has resulted. I often wonder how much 'Winstrol', 'Decca' or 'Testex' has been used, over the years, along with some of the lactic acid inhibitors. Obviously, if you are serious and want to give your dog every chance, a 'pre-keep' and then 'keep' of some kind is necessary. The balance is 'tipped' when guys start to use artificial stimuli, as a requirememnt of that 'keep'. and to gain the results they get. Money and reputation......two things I have felt as though guys have sold their soul for!
