Smoker from a strimmer

Recommended Posts

been making two old strimmers into smokers the last week. the boxes are aliminium and new exhaust pipes I wanted put on were steel, a mate welder said struggle to weld them together as his welder to powerful would blow the ali box up. so I just took the original boxes off and got bit steel pipe hammered one end closed. then drilled the right size holes to fit the 2 screws that were holding the ali box on. then make the same size hole in oneside of steel pipe as the hole from engine. then screw the 2 bolts back in and should just need a little weld to block off any holes. will try get some pics

I used a baller fix plumbing valve, the type with compression fittings at either end and a shut of screw in between like you have in your bathroom or kitchen. Machine your exhaust out with a 19 mm hole saw, fit valve and and piece of 15 mm copper pipe to valve and a piece of hose to copper pipe if desired. As stated above if not welded you will always have to keep an eye on fittings due to the vibration. Good luck.
